Once the funding at the Carver Center ran out for full-scale theatrical productions, Whittaker downsized, literally, by taking all the technical aspects of a show and miniaturizing them. The result? Theater became puppetry, and Whittaker had found yet another artistic outlet.
Strongly influenced by her English-teacher mother and attorney father, Whittaker described her prolific artistic career as an evolution. As she remarked, “One thing leads to another. I see ideas around me, and I think, ‘I can try that’…So, I do it.”
