Though she had been sentenced almost a year ago, Ann Pryor had managed to stay out of prison pending her appeal. Interestingly, her appeal was turned down by a 2-1 vote, but with the dissenting vote being “very strong.”
Tragically, one line of argument of her appeal — that she was too sick to serve time — proved prophetic. Her cancer took her life before the year-long sentence could be upheld in a higher court and served.
